Anouk Wipprecht has designed the piece of clothing, which becomes transparent whenever the wearer gets aroused.
The dresses are named Intimacy and come in white or black and work by responding to heart rate which is detected by small e-foils implanted in the leather.
Daan Roosegaarde, who heads up the design studio, told the Daily Beast: “It creates a situation of total control that the wearer or the one who observes it has an influence over what fashion looks like.”
Roosegaarde said the inspiration behind the dress was the human reaction.
He added: “With some people you want to show more and some people you want to show less.
“We thought it would make complete sense that the dress would be proactive in that: either you have control or you lose control.”
