According to an inquiry made by HumanIPO, BB Z10 from MTN now costs NGN98,000 (US$620) instead of the previously advertised NGN100,000.
In addition, the company is supplying the device with other necessary accessories including headsets.
MTN has also unveiled unique data plans for the new device. Speaking to HumanIPO, a customer care service agent of the telecoms company said MTN is trying to make the device affordable to use by all its customers.
She said: “There is BB10 Lite, a weekly plan that costs NGN850. Users on this plan can consume data up to 85MB for Blackberry Messaging (BBM), internet access, social networking, emails and BlackBerry App World.”
Another weekly plan is the BB10 Midi which offers users 200MB data for NGN1,000, while BB10 Maxi, offers users 500MB of data for NGN1,500.
The company has also announced several monthly plans.
One costs NGN3,000 and offers 1GB of data, another offers 350MB of data for NGN1,400 while for low data consumers, the company has also created a monthly plan that offers users 200MB of data for NGN1,000.
“The reason for this is that we want to satisfy all of our customers by allowing them to choose the plan that best suits them,” the call centre agent said.
On the issue of pre-ordering, she said those that had pre-ordered their devices earlier can now pick them up at the respective MTN centres across the nation, while new subscribers can also pre-order the device at the MTN centre nearest to them.
