The imminent bill is anticipated by an announcement of Republican politician Gary G Howell who views Google Glass as a threat to road safety.
While Google sees the glasses as an addition to human abilities, Howell foresees its danger in the same category as texting while driving.
If the law is passed, it will be illegal while "using a wearable computer with head mounted display".
“I actually like the idea of the product and I believe it is the future,” Howell told CNet.
“[The] last legislature we worked long and hard on a no-texting-and-driving law. It is mostly the young that are the tech-savvy that try new things. They are also our most vulnerable and underskilled drivers,” he added.
Although there are great doubts about the affordability of the US$1,500-priced Google gadget for the younger generation, the Republican is convinced it poses great dangers for drivers and pedestrians.
"I am a libertarian and government has no business protecting us from ourselves, but it does have a duty to make sure I don't injure or kill someone else," Howell explained.
