General manager for the Northern Business District James Bukari Basintale revealed the investment while speaking at Domeabra, Asante-Akim North district.
With the funds, he said MTN will be able to expand its coverage and upgrade its facilities across Ghana. He appealed to Ghanaians to help the company in securing protect fibre-optic cables in their communities, which would guard against further decline in the quality of services provided by MTN.
Busintale made the appeal while speaking at the official commencement of work on the dormitory block project embarked upon by MTN Ghana Foundation as donation to Owerriman Senior High School (SHS) at Domeabra in the Asante-Akim North district. The project will cost GHC399,510.
He described the project as MTN’s contribution towards the realisation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), adding that the telecoms company through its foundation will continue to support the improvement of Ghana’s health and education sectors.
