The New Times reports the new online Construction Permit Management Information System (CPMIS) launched yesterday is a web-based system which will help carry out the whole process of permit application from submission to delivery.
Kigali city mayor Fidele Ndayisaba said the system will have large impact on businesses and effective investor relations, as well as providing extra service to the entire city.
Addressing the audience during the launch, Professor Silas Lwakabamba, the minister of infrastructure, said the system will provide appropriate and clear service.
“Kigali, as a gateway to Rwanda, it is important that we keep up with the latest standards and we are fully committed to that,” said Lwakabamba.
Michel Makale, chief operations officer (COO) of Investment Climate Facility, said they had invested 47 per cent in the system to enable Africa to encourage more business investment.
“Rwanda is our seventh destination in Africa to invest in,” he said. “This is a country that has potential to use the technological facilities in attracting foreign investment.”
