Global diaper brand Pampers has launched an online platform for Kenyan mothers dubbed “Baby on Board”, as it seeks to connect with mothers and share information on baby growth.
Pampers says the platform enables mothers to share useful information on baby development and provide advice to mothers through childcare experts such as paediatricians, nutritionists and dermatologists.
According to Pampers brand manager Victoria Kieti Chesire the platform’s main objective is to help mothers share information amongst themselves.
“Pampers continues to look for ways to continually show support to Kenyan moms as they work towards the healthy development of their babies. Baby on Boardis one avenue that we are using to equip moms with all the necessary information that they need to make this a reality. We also understand the inclination of moms to connect with one another to share experiences raising their little ones and we want to honour that,” she said.
The company says it is relying on increasing penetration of smartphones and other internet enabled phones to help mothers access the information, with studies indicating that phones continue to be the first point of interaction with the internet for most Kenyans.
To support the platform the company will continue with weekly consultative sessions with mothers on its Facebook page, where paediatric dermatologists confront dermatological issues facing babies.
