Within three years of its launch in Brazil, the Easy Taxi appi has had more than 1.5 million downloads.
“We want to bring this success to other attractive markets and we see high potential in many Asian and African countries,” said Dennis Wang, head of International expansion at Easy Taxi.
On the choice of Lagos, Sacha Poignonnec, co-CEO of African Internet Holding, said the densely populated city offers huge potential, adding it would soon be launched in more African cities.
“The Easy Taxi app is convincing in every single aspect: it is fast, safe and working in a very smooth way,” Poignonnec said.
“It fulfills all the needs for the African market. We see an amazing opportunity and we will expand fast to all the markets where we are present today with the startups of Africa Internet Holding.”
The Easy Taxi is already being used in Argentina and Brazil is available on iOS, Android and BlackBerry operating systems.
It allows users to confirm pick-up points and order cabs, with confirmation of the name, photo and car model/plat of the driver on their way to the respective job.
