The rating system, ‘filter_level’, will attribute a rating of none, low, medium or high to tweets, most likely based on how much they have been clicked on, re-tweeted or shared.
In a blog post, Arne Roomann-Kurrik said: “The new streaming-only filter_level attribute is intended for applications which display a selection of Tweets from a stream.
“This will allow applications to more easily surface certain types of content from otherwise noisy or high-volume feeds.”
The ‘lang’ attribute for identifying language is also aimed at consumers of tweet data such as analytics or search streams to offer “language-specific curation”.
