The centre was constructed in partnership with the World Bank and Skye Bank Plc.
It has been set up with the goal of creating an enabling environment that supports knowledge impartation in the areas of science and technology, using ICT-driven participatory and students centered teaching and learning approaches.
Professor G.A. Aderounmu, the director of the institution's ICT, said the facility will assist the nation in building national capacities through postgraduate trainings, post-doctoral researches, short term trainings, conferences and workshops in software engineering.
He added the centre will run programmes in various areas including educational software development, applications, networking and internet.
