Amara S. Konneh, the country’s Minister for Finance, advised the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications to partner with the telecoms sector’s regulatory body, the Liberia Telecommunication Corporation (LIBTELCO), to effect the transformation via wireless Internet
connectivity.

In addition, the fast Internet services will raise the level of productivity among Liberia’s businesses.
“The modern technology will also connect small business, hotels government ministries and agencies as well as the media. The Ministry of Finance will be the first government entity to connect to the fiber optic as a means of digitalising the financial system of the country,” Konneh
said.
He added with the introduction of the fibre-optic services in Liberia the state will record appreciable improvement in Internet quality and quality of telecommunications services.
The minister added the government of Liberia will use the Africa Coast to Europe (ACE) to market the nation, diversify the economy and interconnect public institutions including colleges, universities and hospitals.
Dr Frederick B. Norkeh, the Liberian Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, described Liberia’s connection to the ACE as the realisation of the government’s dream since 2006.
