The Sunday Times reports Zuma is set to move Pule after the Department of Communications (DoC) received criticism over the handling of several issues.
Pule has recently faced controversy over allegations she channeled sponsorship money for last year’s ICT Indaba to an alleged boyfriend, Phosane Mngqibisa, while there have been several extensions to digital migration deadlines and little progress in freeing spectrum for next generation broadband.
The City Press newspaper quotes three ANC and government sources who describe Pule’s departure as “imminent”, with Zulu earmarked as successor.
Zulu is a former ambassador to Brazil, and currently Zuma’s international affairs adviser.
