Web4Africa, one of the leading web and e-commerce service providers in Africa, has collaborated with XYZ.COM LLC to be the first registrar in Africa to carry the .xyz domain extension, set to launch in 2014.
The domain extension will be offered to customers of Web4Africa as a new low cost global platform alongside other popular domain extensions, as well as specialised extensions.
The e-commerce service provider has worked with XYZ.COM LLC to implement designs and information about the domain extension on their website in efforts to educate customers on .xyz.
Some of the new features will include Web4Africa’s first ever domain extension landing page for .xyz, a domain name watchlist and links directly from the home and domain pages.
Oluniyi Ajao, founder of Web4Africa, said: “The new gTLDs present an exciting opportunity for website owners to be more creative and more flexible with their website addresses.
“In addition to being our first new gTLD announcement, Web4Africa is excited about the opportunity .xyz presents to everyone who need a web presence.”
He said the company is looking forward to offering .xyz domains as a cost effective and stylish alternative to the popular domain extensions that lean on today’s web environment.
Web4Africa is among the seven registrars accredited by ICANN and is able to partner with registries directly ensuring their clients are able to purchase low-cost domain names from leading domains such as .xyz all over the world.
Daniel Negari, founder of XYZ.COM LLC, said: “It has been a pleasure working with Web4Africa this far and I look forward to continue working with them to bring .xyz to everyone everywhere.”
He said actively pursuing active leading registrars in high growth areas is one way of bringing internet accessibility and affordability to everyone in the world.
