Major Nigerian digital pay TV company StarTimes has announced the addition of the UEFA Champions League (UCL) to its packages.
The European club football competition is highly popular among Nigerian sports lovers as a result of the large number of Nigeria-born players who play in Europe.
At an event held in Lagos, the management of StarTimes disclosed that European football league fans can now watch live UCL matches on NTA Sports 24 from February to May this year.
Maxwell Loco, Director General of NTA Star TV Network which owns StarTimes, said the deal affirmed their desire to bring quality and affordable digital entertainment to every Nigerian.
He said: “StarTimes mission is to ensure that every home in Nigeria enjoys affordable digital entertainment backed by the collaboration with NTA, a strategic partnership that will help Nigeria in actualising its 2015 transition deadline.”
With the announcement, StarTimes subscribers can now watch the highly anticipated UEFA Champions League match involving Manchester United of England and current Spanish La Liga champions, Real Madrid tomorrow night (Wednesday).
Other top class UCL matches to be shown on StarTimes are AC Milan v Barcelona FC on February 20, Paris Saint Germain v Valencia CF on March 6 and FC Bayern Munich v Arsenal on March 13.
