Microsoft has announced to its South African customers the price of its Office 365 Home subscriptions will increase effective May 7, 2014.
“Microsoft periodically assesses the impact of its local pricing to ensure there is a reasonable alignment with the needs of customers, partners, and the marketplace, and may make changes in response to its assessment and feedback,” the company said in correspondence with its South African customer base.
Microsoft said the price for Office 365 Home purchased directly from Microsoft would increase from ZAR749.99 (US$71) to ZAR949.99 (US$90) and that the revised prices are applicable to new and existing subscribers purchasing the services in rand directly from Microsoft.
