A survey by Ghana’s National Communications Authority (NCA) has revealed only about 10 per cent of mobile phone users in the country use their devices to access the internet.
The NCA Cellular Mobile Consumer Satisfaction Survey 2012/13 revealed 13.9 per cent of urban dwellers and 5.9 per cent of people in rural areas browse the internet on their mobile phones, averaging 10.1 per cent of respondents nationally.
About 13,800 people participated in the survey, which found 97 per cent of respondents use their phones to make or receive calls and 16 per cent send or receive SMSs.
