Kenya’s parking fees can now be settled via Airtel Money

The hustle for long queues to settle parking fees in Kenya could soon be reduced after Airtel and Kenya Airport Parking Services (KAPS) partnered to allow Airtel subscribers to secure the services via Airtel Money.

Airtel Kenya Managing Director Shivan Bhargava said that the project could help reduce congestion in malls as clients wait to be served.
Bhargava was optimistic with the scheme and noted that the latest service will transform the sector by making it easier, faster and convenient for our customers in settling parking bills at the Capital Center, Westgate, Yaya Center, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Junction Mall and Sarit Center.
Those willing to embrace in the latest technology should send nine digit codes available on the Kaps parking ticket to 133 then send amount of money to KAPS available from Airtel Money menu, advised Airtel.
While other services such as online ticketing can be accessed from the KAPS website.
Head of Airtel Money Kenya Sidney Ngaru said that the innovation will be beneficial to customers as they will find it more comfortable to make payments without queuing.
Ngaru added that they are providing an innovative and relevant solution to make life easier for customers by providing convenient and easy ways of using mobile commerce products and services.
“We will educate our customers on how to use Airtel Money services in facilitating smooth transaction,” Ngaru said.
The Cellphone money transfer system was introduced in the country early August 2010 and notable project in early March this year was with Faulu Kenya to offer loans to be repaid in 10 to 30 days branded as ‘Faulu Airtel Kopa chapaa Service.’
