Kenyan online payment solutions firm Pesapal has opened a new portal to potential developers.
Pesapal is an online payment system that combines mobile money transfer services in Kenya allowing users to pay for goods and services online using their phone.
This means that users can now integrate the Pesapal payment gateway on their site thus opening opportunities for ecommerce sites in Kenya to include mobile payment integration.
“Our hope is that this will grow into a community website, where all the resources needed to support the PesaPal Developer Community will be available in one place,” the company said.
The new portal, offers information and support on how one can integrate the service through the API on their own website.
Developers can also interact and ask for help through the forum on the same portal.
Ecommerce in Kenya is gradually taking shape although users have not committed full trust on the concept, according to a report by InMobi released earlier this month. With more websites offering this option however, the trend is likely to change.
