Egypt would soon benefit from high-speed Internet after mobile phone service provider Vodafone Egypt partnered with Ericsson to offer speedy cellular broadband services to its customers.
The development will in addition allow Ericsson to provide Vodafone Egypt with RBS 6000 technology.
This will provide quality network to the increasing number of subscribers in the country as the latest device branded ‘a no-compromise, energy proficient compact site solution’ supports GSM/EDGE, LTE and WCDMA/HSPA.
Vodafone Egypt CEO Hatem Doweidar confirmed that Ericsson as a company guarantees maximum reliability. He said: “Am sure our partnership in this project will be successful; Vodafone customers should expect high-speed Internet services.’’
He was optimistic that RBS 6000 will offer swift transition to the company, reduce operational expenses, facilitate Mobile TV, Web application and high-speed in mobile broadband services.
“Vodafone Egypt is experiencing an increase in voice and data services and our partnership with Ericsson will keep us on toes to continue investing in most up-to-date technology to meet subscriber’s expectation,” Vodafone Egypt CTO Tony Dolton explained.
Ericson Region Middle East president Anders Lindblad was grateful with the partnership. He said the companies have had good working relationship that would continue.
“Ericsson will transmit high speed Internet to Vodafone and we will always be willing to give excellent and newest technology whenever requested to ensure Egypt’s Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) industry progress,” Lindband said.
Currently, Vodafone Egypt, established 1998 by Egypt’s Ministry of Telecommunications, is the largest mobile phone service provider in Egypt. It offers voice and data other services in addition to 3G, ADSL and broadband Internet.
