SNIPS: Apple’s Mountain Lion OS exceeds 3 Million downloads in four days

Apple made an announcement today that downloads of its newly launched operating system, OS X Mountain Lion, have exceeded three million in four days. This makes it the most successful OS X release in Apple’s history.

The OS is available through the Mac App Store as an upgrade to the predecessors, Lion OS or Snow Leopard users, for US$19.99.
Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing said just a year after the introduction of Lion, customers have downloaded Mountain Lion over 3 million times in just four days, making it the company’s “most successful release ever.”
Apple also announced that Facebook integration would be available in an upcoming software update to the Mountain Lion operating system.
