South Africa-based mobile service provider Vodacom has launched a new promotional offer dubbed Smart Standard 299 that allows subscribers to use the company’s services, including voice calls, SMS and Internet, at reduced rates.
Smart Standard 299 features two deals namely Smart Light bundles and Smart Standard.
Smart Standard costs R390 (US$47.82) monthly subscription, comprises of 150 MB data, 75 airtime minutes restricted to Vodacom and 150 SMS while Smart Light bundle costs R135 and lacks calling minutes.
Lately, South Aftrica’s cellphone service providers have unveiled promotions in a bid to woo the country’s growing mobile users. Cell C yesterday launched a handset contract that rewards customers with new handsets after 12 months, for a period of one to four years.
The contract comprises of Monica costing R 149 (US$18.31) monthly subscription for Galaxy PRONokia or 300 Samsung pocket mobile phones .
Erica contract demands R199 (US$ 24.45) for Erica as one walks away with Nokia Asha302 and Nokia Asha 303.
Jessica’s monthly subscription is R 299 (US$36.74), Tumi retails at R 349 (US$42.88) and Sandra R599 (US$73.60).
Subscribers will acquire Nokia 610 Blackberry, Blackberry 9300/ Blackberry 9320, Blackberry 9360/Blackberry 9380 and iPhone 16GB, 4S Samsung A/S3 Blackberry 9900.
Cell C targets both prepaid and postpaid customers who will also have access to monthly airtime for data, SMS, multimedia message services (MMS) at a cheaper rate and voice calls at 99 cents per minute.
Vodacom’s other promotional services available include, operator’s site HTC One S, One X, Samsung S3 as well as Motorola Razr and Android Smartphone gadgets retailing at R299(US$39.66) per month.
The organization was the first mobile telecommunications in South Africa. It also operates in Tanzania, Lesotho, Mozambique and Democratic Republic of Congo. The company provides GSM service to an estimated 35 million people.
