M-Content, new virtual content payment app on social networking and gaming sites in Nigeria

M-Content, a new virtual wallet launched Monday, is set to help Nigerians make online payments on gaming and social networking sites.

According to the firm, M-Content will enable users in Nigeria and Africa to make online payments on Facebook, Skype, I-Tunes Store, Android Store, Amazon Store, BlackBerry Store, EA Sport, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo-online gaming.

Populations in Africa are closed out of social commerce websites for the lack of internationally accepted payment cards, it said.

Mr. Jide Akindele, Managing Director at MMIT told the Punch that the need to end the obstacle which denied many in Nigeria and Africa opportunities offered in social commerce drove them to seek relevant partnerships and they chose to work with Bango.net Limited.

Akindele said the partnership will change online and mobile payments in the country for good.

“With this partnership, millions of Nigerians and other Africans will finally be able to make online and mobile payments for goods and services offered on hundreds of international social commerce websites without their payment cards being rejected,” he said.

Mobile Media Info Tech Limited is a Nigerian mobile software development company focusing on money transfer services, mobile banking, and mobile payment processes. MMIT develops mobile and Web technology payment platforms.

Founded in 1999, Bango powers commerce for businesses targeting the growing market of Internet enabled mobile phone users by enabling payment from mobile users for online content and services.

M-Content was launched Monday by Mobile Media Info Tech Limited and Bango.net Limited.
