SA’s Nedbank app for Android goes live

Nedbank unveiled its App for Android on Monday gaining a step further into the bank’s digital pursuits to serve clients remotely.

Nedbank in a statement said the launch is a step closer to achieving its goal of empowering clients to perform transactions online.

Nedbank staff had the app tested on June 25 remarking that the the Android app is “the latest digital innovation to come from Nedbank.”

Nedbank’s chief executive Mike Brown said the launch of the Nedbank App Suite is the latest in a list of digital innovations building on from Approve-itTM, the best online security currently available in South Africa.

“We are excited by the launch and firmly believe that the we have built best in class security and architecture to create a ‘secure electronic highway’ that enables us to do more than anytime, anywhere mobile banking,” Brown said.

The Nedbank App Suite has a premier market online share-trading offering, corporate batch authorisations and Business Banking password reset capability.

According to Nedbank, clients with a primary account with Nedbank can also perform balance enquiries, payments and transfers while clients with stockbroking accounts with BoE Stockbrokers or Nedbank Online Share Trading can view their portfolio and trade in local equities.

Users of the Nedbank App Suite can access branch locators, forex calculators, application lead forms and more.

Presently, the Nedbank App suite can be accessed on Android Tablets, iPhones or iPads, BlackBerry handsets and feature phones while users of Microsoft OS will, by the first quarter of next year, have an own app in the Nedbank App Suite.

The Nedbank android app are downloadable at the Google Play Store.
