Valuation for African Startups is an event for tech-preneurs that discusses how to really quantify how much their ideas are worth when investors come knocking. On September 4th from 6-8 p.m at the iHub, Savannah Fund managing partner Mbwana Alliy will walk the iHub community through Valuation Theory basics.

Africa’s largest Hack Boot Camp for Trade Transparency

Africa’s largest Hack Boot Camp for Trade Transparency is an event whose aim is to provide consumers with information on how trade-related costs and trade barriers such as tariffs affect them by raising the prices of the goods they buy. Cash prizes for the best ideas, marketing and support will be on offer as the best techies, developers, designers, creatives and activists will gather to create visualisations, interactive tools, mobile, web and social applications to illustrate the impact of trade barriers on the prices of everyday products.

TheNextWeb’s Startup World Competition is a pitching event for Startup World competition in Cape Town. Startup World is an initiative to promote startups, entrepreneurship and technology through a global competition to find the world’s most innovative startups. Silicon Cape VC Office Hours

VC Office Hours is a new monthly initiative by Silicon Cape where startups get a chance to ask an investor specific questions regarding the funding processes and aspects different of your entrepreneurship. The format of the sessions will be that six start-up teams and will get a 30-minute question slot on the first Friday of each month with a funder.

Hack&Tell with Googlers

Where: Outbox Hub, Soliz House, Kampala

Hack&Tell with Googlers is an event by Google Technology User Groups (GTUG Kampala ) that brings together members and application developers who have implemented some cool hacks using Google technologies. Members will be allowed to demo their hacks-could be a mobile app, a website, a game service- in front of a crowd of hackers for five minutes. In the end members will have some free pizza and a few drinks at the bar and time to socialize in real life.
