The makers of the shopping comparison site Jump.co.za have shifted their brand to a new look and a new name aimed to spread their wings across Africa.
Formerly known as Jump Shopping, the company now will trade under the name, UAfrica with some of its brands changing their names also.
Andy Higgins, Managing Director of uAfrica.com said, “I’m very excited to take on this project. eCommerce in South Africa is constantly evolving and together with the collective knowledge and experience in eCommerce that this venture brings, I believe uAfrica.com will be instrumental in growing eCommerce in South Africa.”
Its price comparison site will now be known as Uprice.co.za and will take over from Jump.co.za. According to StatShow, a website measuring tool, Jump.co.za receives about 50,000 page views daily. This translates to about 1.6 million page views every month.
The new brand Uprice.co.za is already receiving close to 2,000 daily page views. This is promising for the young brand.
Another of its products to be rebranded is uWeb.co.za. It is a Web solutions company that offers domain registration.
“The company also specialises in providing eCommerce Consultancy for all aspects of running an eCommerce business, conducts eCommerce Research, eCommerce Training and will furthermore hold an annual eCommerce Conference,” the company said.
For seven years, the company also hosts the annual South African eCommerce Awards, to recognize budding companies that use and demonstrate excellence in the eCommerce space within South Africa.
The next South African eCommerce Awards has been slated for June 6, 2013 in Johanesburg. Currently, voting for the 2012 eCommerce awards is in progress. The top 40 websites are expected to be announced on September 17.
