Leading mobile service provider Vodacom Tanzania and giant handset manufacturer Nokia have partnered to introduce Nokia 111 model in the country.
The gadget consists of an external memory card slot of up to 32 GB storage capacity, with Internal memory of 10 MB, supports 2G network, VGA camera mp 0.03, Li-Ion 800mAh for a seven-hour talk time and comes in black, green, magenta and lime colour.
Vodacom Tanzania managing director Rene Meza said the device would be suitable for the youth given its affordability and will offer free unlimited Facebook, Twitter and Wikipedia.
Nokia Country Director, Samson Majwala noted that Nokia 111 allows customers to download applications and famous games including Fifa 12, Tetris and Need for speed.
Majwala further said the handset has interesting features that are easy to use which would attract more subscribers to buy.
“It is user-friendly and appeals to the eyes and we hope our customers would enjoy using them,” he said.
Meza concluded by assuring customers and subscribers that the company would continue to offer better services to establish a great relationship with its existing customers and woo others.
In July, the two firms Vodacom Tanzania and Nokia, unveiled Nokia Asha 302 and Nokia Asha 200.
Nokia 111 will retail at TSh74, 999 (US$ 47.82) with free Internet and double airtime once in every month for six months upon first recharge of TSh1,000 (US$0.64) or above.
According to Nokia, plans are underway to carry out countrywide activations to reach out subscribers.
