SA’s Nedbank App Suite now on Android and iOS

Having released its app suite earlier in the year, South Africa’s Nedbank has now made it available to Android Tablet, iPhone and iPad users.

This comes approximately a month after it launched the Nedbank App Suite to Android handset users. The app Suite was only released to Nedbank staff in a pilot and testing phase earlier in the year.

The Nedbank App Suite is the latest in a list of digital innovations building on from Approve-it (TM), the best online security currently available in South Africa, and MyFinancialLife (TM), a secure online personal financial management tool, already launched to Nedbank staff and soon to be released to market.

Anton de Wet, Managing Executive, Client Engagement at Nedbank, said: “Through the launch of the app suite Nedbank has taken a step closer to achieving our goal of empowering clients to do all their banking even more securely, anytime, anywhere.”

Fred Swanepoel, Nedbank Chief Information Officer added that Android handset users have been using the Nedbank App Suite for a month now and the response has been very positive.

“Thanks to the ongoing feedback from users we have been able to enhance the digital experience, complementing the best in class security and architecture that forms the foundation of the app suite,” he said.

“We are confident that Apple and Android users will benefit from being the first to market online share trading offering, batch and beneficiary authorisations as well as password reset capability for our business clients, and other useful NedApps for mobile banking.”

According to the bank, BlackBerry and feature phone users will not have to wait long to have the Nedbank App Suite, with the complete roll-out anticipated to take place before the end of 2012. Those using the Microsoft Operating System will have access to the Nedbank App Suite in 2013.

“The Nedbank App Suite is unique in that it will be available on smartphones as well as a range of feature phones. It is our intention to provide an easy to use app that is safe, convenient and available to as many South Africans as possible, in support of our bank for all strategy” concluded Swanepoel.

The Nedbank App Suite can be downloaded from The Google Play Store or from the Apple App Store.
