Wireless Wednesday: Understanding Kenya’s MHealth Ecosystem

Where: M:Lab East Africa, Bishop Magua Center (3rd flr), Ngong Road, Nairobi

Wireless Wednesday events are in essence focus group discussions sessions between mobile developers and practitioners or experts in various industry domains. The first in the new series of mHealth meetups will be held on 3rd October 2012. The event is themed “Understanding Kenya’s mHealth Ecosystem” . Stakeholders in the health sector will share thoughts on the mHealth ecosystem and the roles of the different sub-sector players.

Ruby Users Meet-Up

Where: iHub, Bishop Magua Center, Ngong Road, Nairobi

Monthly meetup for Ruby users to be held the first Thursday of every month. Ruby is a dynamic, reflective, general-purpose object-oriented programming language that combines syntax inspired by Perl with Smalltalk-like features.

MVNOs Industry Summit Africa 2012

MVNOs Industry Summit Africa 2012 is part of the MVNOs Industry Summit Series. The event will explore the new opportunity for MVNO growth in Africa, inviting new MVNOs and resellers to present CxO case studies and bringing international MVNO brands to discuss best practice strategy for this new region.

WordCamp Cape Town 2012

PyConZA

PyConZA is the first annual gathering of the South African community using and developing the open-source Python programming language. PyConZA is organized by the Python community for the community and presented by Praekelt Foundation.

Silicon Cape VC Office Hours
When: 5th October
Where: Angel Hub’s Offices, Bandwidth Barn, Cape Town

VC Office Hours is a monthly initiative by Silicon Cape where startups get a chance to ask an investor specific questions regarding the funding processes and aspects different of your entrepreneurship. The format of the sessions will be that six start-up teams and will get a 30-minute question slot on the first Friday of each month with a funder.

mapIT Developers Day, Jo’burg

mapIT Developers Day is a development session where you will learn all about the NEW features available on the deCarta platform covering, both web and mobile and focusing on deCarta’s NEWEST version of its JavaScript API.
