South Africa-based IT firm 1toGo Mobile has launched a new platform for its mobile cloud services powered by CommuniGate unified systems that will offer businesses cloud-based services.
The new cloud system will enable users to access personal and shared mailboxes, calendars, contacts and tasks, business grade instant messaging and secure file storage.

In just two weeks, business cloud companies in Nigeria and South Africa have deployed CommuniGate. Recently, OutsourceIT, a Nigerian based IT company also installed CommuniGate’s system to offer business clients cloud services.
Cloud services are becoming common and Africa with a number of companies opting for the facility. Mobile cloud offerings are a bit slow in the uptake, with most countries only having a “backup contacts” service. Companies like 6ix Degrees are offering contact backup services through their products including, thePhonebook.co.ke.
Research included in The State of Broadband 2012, released by Unesco and ITU, states that one of the trends that will be common in greater broadband access is the cloud based services.
Cloud-based services help businesses monitor their process even on the go. Workers who are dispatched in fare areas can log in and share their reports from the field with ease.
“The Cloud enables businesses to improve their business processes, productivity and bottom lines without tying up capital and other resources which could have been better spent on their core business,” Steven Ambrose, CEO of business and digital marketing consultancy Strategy Worx Consulting said, while detailing out the importance of cloud services.
