One of Nigeria’s largest news site Punch News readies to launch its mobile Web version with the help of Twinpine Network, a mobile advertising company, the site announced.
Technology-africa.com, tech news site covering digital culture, puts Nigeria Punch News at number 3 in Nigeria. It currently garners over 10 million page views each month, according to Statshow.com. The site boasts of nearly 4.5 million monthly visitors.
The option to have a mobile version will extend the numbers to users who access the Internet using their Web-enabled phone. According to Punch News, the new mobile platform under the name Punchng.mobi will be available soon.
Twinpine Network led the construction of the mobile website and it falls within its mandate to help big websites embrace mobile Web channels.
“The site becomes the newest addition to Twinpine’s list of premium publishers and is aimed at continuously adding value to the numerous Punch news consumers home and abroad, a sizeable chunk of who view the news pages with their mobile devices,” Twinpine Network stated.
Twinpine Network is a big mobile ad aggregator based in Nigeria, and aims to put more African content on the mobile Web.
The company opened its offices in Nairobi, Kenya to serve the East African market and it is expected that it will also do some initiatives to develop content on the mobile web.
