Total System Services (TSYS), the largest processor of merchant acquirers and bank credit card issuers, has recognized the Commercial Bank of Africa (CBA) for its dedicated use of payment solutions.
CBA has used Total System Services for 15 years now which has seen it grow to become one of the largest banks in Kenya.
CBA’s CEO, Mr. Jeremy Ngunze said: “CBA’s consistent knowledge and use of TSYS Prime card management system over the last 15 years has guaranteed superior service offering in our card products portfolio.
“As a result, CBA is ranked as the third largest card sales volumes business in the market and our strong customer base ensures that we have the highest average spend per card.”
According to a statement from CBA, the two have partnered to offer people-centered payments through a card payment service, which will see users being paid through in foreign currency — and not local currency. This is the first in the East Africa banking scene.
“The card is targeted at people whose income stream is in dollars. Other firsts in the local and regional banking sector as a result of this partnership include CBA’s offering of the only Business Visa card in the region and the first local bank to issue the Visa Platinum card,” CBA said.
CBA offers a wide range of products and services through its network of “comfortable and elegant outlets.” It also offers Internet and mobile banking solutions.
US-based Total System Service is one of the biggest credit card processing companies for other banks since 1974. The company says it processes over 38 million transactions on a daily basis through its partnerships worldwide.br />
