Vodacom signs contract with The Now Factory in South Africa

South Africa-based mobile operator Vodacom has signed a deal with data services firm The Now Factory to use its Mobile Moments Vantage solution, enabling the operator to accurately measure the performance of its data network in real time and optimise the customer experience for its 31 million subscribers.

The announcement was made during this week’s Enterprise Ireland trade mission to South Africa, led by Ireland’s Minister for Trade and Development Joe Costello.

The Now Factory provides its customers with insights into the use of data services in optimizing customer service and driving profits. Its Mobile Moments Vantage solution is to be deployed across Vodacom’s 3G and LTE networks, measuring the impact of apps, devices and service types.

“Delivering an optimal Quality of Experience (QoE) to our customers is of key importance for us as we look to build on our market position as the leading provider of mobile broadband services in South Africa,” said Johan Engelbrecht, Chief Network Officer, Vodacom. “Partnering with The Now Factory will help us to proactively manage the QoE our customers receive when accessing the diverse range of mobile data services that we offer.”

“Measuring and verifying performance across the mobile data network is becoming more challenging for operators given the complex mix of smart devices and services that customers are using across different locations,’ said Tom Morrisroe, Chief Executive Officer of The Now Factory. “Our Mobile Moments solution will enable Vodacom to successfully address this challenge by providing real-time and meaningful views of how their customers use data services at any given time.”

By measuring the cumulative effect of all these elements, Mobile Moments Vantage helps providers in four countries to develop more engaging relationships with their customers and drive greater profitability across their business.

Welcoming the announcement, Minister Costello said:  “This is a highly significant development for The Now Factory and confirms their international standing as an innovative company with a world-class product. The Sub-Sahara Region is one of the fastest growing markets in the world for telecommunications, and The Now Factory’s success in securing this new contract with Vodacom South Africa is evidence of the potential that exists for dynamic Irish companies in this growing market.”
