Two new directors nominated to Telkom SA’s board

South Africa’s Telkom yesterday announced the appointment of two new non-executive directors, namely Jabulane Albert Mabuza and Kholeka Mzondeki, to its board.

The announcement came on the same day the company appointed Attila Vitai as its managing director.

The two additions bring the number of directors to eight. According to the Memorandum of Incorporation, the board is now sufficiently constituted, and can elect a new Chairman.

Commenting on the latest appointments, Telkom’s outgoing group chief executive officer Nombulelo Moholi said: “We welcome the appointment of our new board members and believe that their depth of knowledge, skill and experience will be of great value to Telkom.”

Jabulane Albert Mabuza attended the Effective Leadership Program at Wharton School from University of Pennsylvania and the Executive Development Program: Financial Statement Analysis at the John E Anderson Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Currently, Mabuza serves as the deputy chairman of Tsogo Sun Holdings. He also serves on the boards of Ampleray Investments (Pty), Eglin Investments No. 44 (Pty), Hydrop Investments Limited, Kuncedzana Investments Holdings, Lexshell 627 Investments (Pty) and other boards.

Kholeka Mzondeki is a qualified chartered accountant, with a bachelor of commerce degree obtained from the University of Botswana and a diploma in investment management from the University of Johannesburg. She is a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, United Kingdom.
