The Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON) will address the various challenges the industry and their subscribers are contending with at a December conference.
Nigeria’s Telecoms Executives and Regulator Forum will be held on Wednesday, December 12, in Lagos, and is open to all telecoms in Nigeria.
ATCON said the forum would help create a platform for the regulatory bodies to inform the industry of their latest directions and plans for the future.
Ajibola Olude, Executive Secretary of ATCON, added the forum was meant to enable the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and other regulatory bodies to get feedback from the industry to guarantee sustained growth of the growing sector of the nation’s economy.
He said participants will deliberate on measures that can be taken to increase the rate of expansion of telecommunications operations across Nigeria. As well as speeches there will be panel discussion sessions on various sub-themes.
The keynote address will be delivered by Dr Eugene Juwah, Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC. The Vice Chairman’s speech is expected to be on service quality issues, number portability, open access to broadband infrastructure, provision of frequency spectrum for service delivery and mainstreaming local content in the Nigerian telecoms industry.
