Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy SIII now available in SA

South Africans can now get the latest operating system update, Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), for their Samsung Galaxy SIIIs.

Samsung Electronics, the Korean manufacturer of Android smartphones, said the operating system update is immediately available across all of SA’s mobile service providers.

Craige Fleischer, Director of Mobile Communications at Samsung Electronics SA, said.“In essence, Jelly Bean is the fastest and smoothest version of Android yet – improving on the simplicity and beauty of Android 4.0,”

It is recommended users update using Kies (Mobile PC Client) or alternatively using FOTA (by downloading the firmware upgrade over the air directly from your mobile phone).

“These improvements coupled with Samsung’s innovative technology and the power of the Galaxy S III will ensure our customers have a – ‘’beyond smart’’ – immersive mobile experience at their fingertips, wherever they may be.”

“We understand that all our Android upgrades are highly anticipated and in great demand locally – especially as they enhance our customers experience with their Galaxy devices and so we are pleased to announce this availability.” concluded Fletcher.
