Last chance for African entrepreneurs to win US$100,000 investment backed by UN

The deadline for applications to a competition led by the United Nations which will award US$150,000 in investment to African entrepreneurs is tomorrow.

The Innovation Prize Award 2013 for Africa (IPA) deadline wasextended by one month to November 30 as the African Innovation Foundations (AIF) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) hunt for advanced ways to solve the continent’s problems.

The IPA states: “It is IPA’s mission to elevate attention around innovative work and help support the vision of entrepreneurs. The prize honours and encourages innovative achievements that contribute towards the development of new products, increased efficiency or cost savings in Africa.

“The prize also promotes the efforts of young African men and women pursuing science, technology and engineering careers as well as business opportunities that aim to contribute to sustainable development in Africa.”

The winner will walk away with US$100,000 while two runner-ups will receive US$25,000 each. To enter clickhere.
