Companies are increasingly turning to encryption to protect their information from intruders, according to a B2B International survey.
Encryption is now the fifth most widespread technique, a dramatic rise compared to 2011 when it just made it in to the top ten.
Nikolay Grebennikov, Chief Technology Officer at security specialists Kaspersky Lab, said: “Encryption incorporated into a comprehensive security system for corporate IT infrastructure can be an effective way out.
“Our business solutions can provide flexibility and easily managed protection for all corporate network endpoints.”
In total 36 percent of companies surveyed use full disk encryption and 44 percent of those use it to protect only critical information.
The survey involved more than 3,300 IT specialists in 22 countries worldwide and was conducted in conjunction with Kaspersky Lab. The participants represented all business sizes.
