Mobile operator Vodafone Ghana and globally renowned computing company, Opera Software, have launched a tailored version of the popular Opera Mini web browser on mobile.
The free mobile web browser project is part of an international partnership between the two companies and means Vodafone subscribers in Ghana will now enjoy a one-click web access via speed dial shortcuts and smart page notifications.
About eight percent of all mobile subscribers in Ghana are on Vodafone, but the operator is hopeful its latest deal will tempt more users to sign up.
Mobile penetration is Ghana in nearing 100 percent and for the majority of the country it is their only means of accessing the Internet.
It includes speed dial shortcuts and smart page notifications and subscribers can directly visit popular news websites and it offers swift connection to popular social media networking sites.
According to Opera.com, the mini web browser is the fastest mobile browser and offers its users high speed and saves money on data usage.
