Samsung Kenya has launched the Galaxy S4 Zoom, a smartphone with advanced photographic capabilities.
The S4 Zoom which was unveiled by Samsung Electronics in June is the last edition of the Galaxy S4 spin offs that include the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S4 Active and the Galaxy S4 mini
The device, which is an enhancement of the Galaxy S4 Mini and the GALAXY camera, features a 10x Optical Zoom, 16 Megapixel CMOS Sensor, OIS and Xenon Flash.
Robert Ngeru, chief operating officer (COO) at Samsung Electronics East Africa, said the Galaxy S4 Zoom is part of Samsung Electronics agenda to create a device that fulfills both the role of a competing smartphone and a high-end camera.
“As communication continues to become increasingly visual in nature, people wish to capture and share their moments in the highest quality possible, but often do not have the space or inclination to carry a dedicated camera for this purpose,” Ngeru said.
“The Galaxy S4 Zoom changes this forever, combining the industry leading functionality and connectivity of the Galaxy S4 smartphone with the high quality photographic experience you’d expect from a compact camera.”
The phone also features a 4.3 inch qHD Super AMOLED screen, 1.5 GHz Dual-Core Processor, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, 16 MP rear camera, full video HD 1080p recording and playback, 1.5GB RAM and a 2330 mAh battery
Samsung East Africa said the Galaxy S4 Zoom will be available at all Samsung authorised dealers countywide.
