The 2013 Kenya IT Week, a joint effort between the Kenya ICT Authority and Kenya Information Technology and Outsourcing Society (KITOS), will be held from September 2 to 5 in Nairobi.
Business-to-business conferencing company Kinetic is hosting the three day conference, which comprises of two summits – the second East Africa Outsourcing Summit and the third Annual IT Leaders East Africa.
The summit will act as a platform for both existing and potential players in the outsourcing space in East Africa to network and gain insight from the major outsourcing regions.
The Kenya ICT Authority said: “The event will boost the Kenya Vision 2030 aim of maintaining a sustained economic growth rate of 10 per cent per annum from 2012, with a focus on macroeconomic stability, infrastructural development; science, technology and innovation (STI), land reforms, human resource development, and security and public sector reforms.”
Since the undersea cable was introduced in 2009, Kenya has been seen as the outsourcing hub in the region, for markets in Europe, North America and Australia.
The summit provides a platform aimed at senior decision makers looking to reduce costs and efficiency pressures by outsourcing business processes to East Africa.
It will also explore the alignment of people, process and technology; offering insight into the solutions available to contact centres today, assisting companies in the negotiations and selecting the tools best suited to their needs.
