Student hacker arrested for stealing exam answers

Officers of the Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have arrested a graduate accused of hacking websites of the State Security Service (SSS), NSCDC, National Examination Council (NECO), and the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).

Ade Abolurin, commandant general of the NSCDC, said 23-year old Adeniji Lukman, formerly of the College of Education, Ilaro, Ogun State, also hacked and stole exam questions and answers from the website for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

After obtaining the questions and answers, he claimed Lukman sold them to candidates of JAMB’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) prior to the exam.

“The crux of the matter is that when he hacked into our system, there were so much outcries in the country,” Lukman said. “This got to my knowledge late last year, and so we started trailing the suspect. We thank God, on September 26, we got him.

“He just graduated from College of Education, Ilaro, in March and he went to computer training centre where he learnt some of these things.”
