Entrepreneurial programme Startup Weekend will take place for the fourth time in Cape Town next month, offering an opportunity to enter the Global Startup Battle.
Startups will be able to engage in networking, planning and pitching during the 54-hour programme taking place at the Bandwidth Barn in Woodstock between November 15 and 17.
Partnering with the Cape Town Entrepreneurship Week for the Global Startup Battle, the winning startup will be entered to compete against 1,200 teams across the world.
According to the programme managers, participants will be able to launch within two days of attending the weekend, with nothing but interest as a requirement.
Starting off with open mic pitches, attendees will vote for top pitches which will be developed for the final presentation to an expert panel of judges, with prizes such as advice and seed capital at stake.
“Participants will get invaluable access to a vibrant network of people interested in creating startups in Cape Town and those willing to experiment with ideas,” the non-profit organisation (NPO) said.
All teams will be rewarded with gifts sponsored by international companies such as Cloudmine, SendGrid and Microsoft BizSpark.
With limited availability, swift registration is encouraged for a fee including food and drinks, as well as mentorship.
