DEMO, famous for launching highly innovative companies in cloud computing, enterprise, mobile and social media, has announced the launch of DEMO Africa slated for Nairobi’s Intercontinental Hotel later this year.
Following the launch, a conference dubbed DEMO Africa 2012 has been scheduled for October expected to provide the most innovative, emerging and established companies from African countries with the opportunity to launch and announce their products on stage to the continent.
Companies based outside Africa will also have the opportunity to launch into the African market.
“DEMO Africa 2012 allows for a collaborative environment where leading minds and companies from African nations can come together to gain exposure on a global level. DEMO’s goal is to provide the opportunities necessary to get these exciting companies exposure and, ultimately, success in their respective industries,” said Neal Silverman, DEMO’s senior vice president.
This will see Africa become the global event organiser’s newest addition to its DEMO’s Global Launch Program that features a series of conferences focusing on emerging technologies and new products innovations, which are hand selected from across the spectrum of the technology marketplace.
Silverman said Africa is emerging as a hotbed for technology and innovation.
DEMO conferences are organized byThe International Data Group (IDG) Enterprise and the VentureBeat.
The conferences have initially taken place in Asia, United States, Brazil and Africa.
The 3-day DEMO Africa event is scheduled to begin in October 24, 2012.
