A new phone-based application that features top winesellers who participated in a Top12Wines competition has been launched in Cape Town, South Africa.
“Wines are displayed per categories such as varietals and blends and can be classified by their rank in the Top12Wines competition,” said Top12Wines,the firm behind the app.
Founder Frederic Dasse said: “We are proud to have been chosen by RIM and BlackBerry as one of the 17 partner apps for the launch of the new BlackBerry.”
“This application will broaden the Top12Wines community and will allow everyone to look at the rankings, tasting results and book tastings at any time through their brand new BlackBerry 10 smartphone.”
The application was designed and deployed by Citrus Technology.
Gidon Judes, the managing director of Cytrus Technology, exuded confidence on the success of the app on BB10 at the launch.
“The integration of the BlackBerry 10 Top12wines application with the www.top12winesstore.com e-commerce store will offer a rich user experience by bringing more convenience and extending access for nomadic consumers,” he said.
The company hopes to update the application in March to also include an in-app purchase of any wine bottle participating in the Top12Wines competition.
The application can be downloaded from theBlackBerry App World.
