First Bank of Nigeria has officially commenced the third season of its online reality writing competition in partnership with thenakedconvos.com, an art and opinion platform.
Organisers said every week contestants will be given a topic or theme to write on for members of the public and judges to assess the written pieces and vote to keep the best writers in the competition until only a writer remains.
For the third season, the organisers said there would be more weekly evictions and the prize money has increased.
Twelve finalists will be selected from the competition’s call for entries submissions. The finalists will then be mentored by three judges and will contest in four rounds of the online writing competition. Three contestants will be evicted weekly.
The competition is open to all African writers irrespective of age, location and nationality. At the end of the competition, the overall winner will receive US$1,200, the first runner up US$800, and the second runner up US$600.
