Danish Momondo and Kenya’s NMG to link travellers to 700+ sites worldwide

Global online booking engine Momondo, and Nation Media Group, East and Central Africa’s leading media house, have come up with an online travel site dubbed TwendeTwende.

The site, set to link its users to airlines, hotels or travel agencies with the best deals, will enable users within the East and Central African regions compare flight fares to over 700 travel sites worldwide.

Users searching for international and domestic flights at the site will get results from all the major airlines worldwide with the most cost effective flight prices being displayed first- inclusive all fees and taxes.

The site afterwards would link the users to the flights selected for direct online booking.

The same would be done in booking the hotels where users would compare the accommodation charges before the site links them to the hotel’s portal to make the payments.

Momondo says this will benefit the users both locally and internationally looking to travel within or out of the region since it saves them time and money. The service also reduces over-reliance on travel agents.

Momondo is a Danish initiative launched in September 2006 as a flight search engine only. They have recently introduced city guides, become multilingual and added hotel and car rental search on the site.

According to Momondo, over five million unique visitors come to the site, Momondo.com, each month. The site has close to 50 million page views.

Nationa Media Group, a top media house in Kenya, runs newspapers, radio stations, television stations and more than 12 consumer-facing websites.
