South Africa’s First National Bank (FNB) has added the PlayStation 3 and 4, high-definition televisions (HDTVs) and Blu-ray DVD players to its smart device range, providing an alternative to those who cannot afford one-off payments.
FNB’s smart devices can be paid off over a 24-month period, with no additional interest, fees or charges.
“By making TVs, Blu-ray DVD players and a wider range of gaming consoles available to our customers we are enabling them to stay on trend with the latest technology and move towards a more connected living experience which positions FNB as a lifestyle partner,” said Kartik Mistry, head of smart devices at FNB.
The 500 gigabyte (GB) PlayStation 4 (PS4) bundle is available for ZAR359 (US$32) per month, while the 12GB Playstation 3 (PS3) can be purchased for ZAR170 (US$15) monthly.
Samsung HDTVs and Blu-ray player bundles start at ZAR499 (US$45) per month.
“With over 200,000 smart devices sold since the launch of the offer in 2011 it was clear that this offer is relevant to our customers. The expansion of our product offer over the years, as well as customer feedback indicated that customers want to have the option of adding more than one device to their device portfolio, which we have now made available,” said Mistry.
