The rebranded Mobile East Africa 2014 kicked off today in Nairobi, bringing together industry players seeking to expand mobile data usage and drive monetisation through industry collaboration.
The conference is seeking to address issues such as ecosystem development, factors hindering progress and how stakeholders are collaborating with the rest of the industry.
“We are in a revolution-transition from basic uses to serious apps that will change our lives,” said Dr Bitange Ndemo, honorary chairperson for the Alliance for Affordable Internet (A4AI) at a side interview at the event.
Mobile expert Tomi Ahonen will address the event, which also features speakers from Safaricom, Airtel Africa, IBM, SAP and a number of incubators and startups.
