Omobola Johnson, Nigeria’s communication technology minister, has directed the managing director of Nigerian Communications Satellite (NigComSat) Limited, Engr Timasaniyu Ahmed-Rufai, to go on indefinite leave to pave the way for an investigation into the finances of the company.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued by Sonny Aragba-Akpore, head of corporate communications at NigComSat, which revealed the minister’s directive had been approved by the board of directors of NigComSat.
Rufai was billed to speak today at the ongoing Social Media Week (SMW) Lagos on science and technology, but NigCom Sat cancelled his appearance at late notice, saying the event would be rescheduled for Friday.
