South African IT consulting firm Business Connexion (BCX) has announced its acquisition of Botswanan point-of-sales (PoS) provider Ultimate Solutions, in line with the company’s expansion strategy on the continent.
HumanIPO reported last week BCX had bought Nigerian imaging solutions company Panabiz, hoping to expand its digital imaging capabilities in the region.
“Ultimate Solutions is Botswana’s market leader in point-of-sale solutions with three branches in Gaborone, Maun and Francistown and a retail customer base of over 800 stores in the country,” BCX said in a statement.
“With 20 years’ experience and an excellent track-record, Ultimate Solutions provides Business Connexion’s retail focused business units’ access to this market.”
Ultimate Solutions is also a supplier of brands such as HP, Lenovo and Mecer.
“We’re excited about our increasing African footprint and the talent joining Business Connexion,” said Benjamin Mophatlane, BCX chief executive officer (CEO).
“Our African footprint allows us to better service our client bases who too are expanding into Africa. Our recent acquisitions allow us to provide solutions and services that are aligned to customer needs.”
Last week the company announced a reorganisation of its leadership to “advance the Group’s positioning as a global player”.
“Our new model supports collaboration, builds a culture of continuous improvement and a standard approach to Business Performance Management, thereby creating a more agile and efficient business,” said Vanessa Olver, Business Connexion deputy CEO.
