The Kenyan Ministry of Lands has closed off its offices for ten days so as to conduct an audit and digitise records, a move cabinet secretary Charity Ngilu said will help improve efficiency at the ministry.
Ngilu said the ministry has embarked on a digital backup of files as well as launching stringent measures of ensuring security.
“We are going to have a biometric door here so that whoever goes in is known, we are also going to have CCTV cameras as you can see there is no camera which can tell who is in the registry or what they have come out with,” said Ngilu.
The move means the public will not be able to access the Ardhi House offices located in Upper Hill, Nairobi until May 19.
